In this video I’ll show you how it’s done step-by-step. Resolve will then adjust the color wheel accordingly. It goes without saying, but having an organized Color panel (or project management, in general) would boost your productivity. Last but not the least, keep your workspace clean and organized. Select what point you want to adjust and then move the cursor to your footage and click on the point that should be pure black or white, depending on what picker you are using. Alex Jordan of Learn Color Grading explains why these two works like magic. These tools let you select the black points and the white points of your clip. The new feature in Resolve 14 works great right out of the box. That was until Davinci Resolve 14 introduced a little color correction feature, that i ignored for a while, and did not even try it, mainly because i lost faith in automated color correction in general. I tried everything, and decided that the best option is to do color correction manually.Įven though it takes a long time, and i just hate this phase that delays the real pleasure of working on color grading itself. Overtime I lost faith an all of the available options. Historically, lots of color grading environments, tried to introduce “automated” color correction tools, with various degrees of success, but with nothing being the “real” answer to the automated color correction problem. Usually, it takes a couple of nodes and many adjustments to color correct a shot. The class focuses on color correction and color correction workflows for finishing films. You want to finish the boring correction part as soon as possible, to get to the fun part…color grading. PLEASE NOTE: THIS WORKSHOP IS NOW TAUGHT ONLINE USING ZOOM This online class introduces students to the powerful color correction tools in Davinci Resolve Lite.
